Deburring removes the sharp, raised edges and burrs left by cutting, punching or machining. The goal is safety and cleanliness.

Chamfering deliberately cuts a beveled edge at a defined angle — usually for assembly, stress relief, or aesthetic reasons.

Edge rounding slightly radiuses the edge rather than cutting a straight bevel — common on decorative stainless steel parts.
